Hi, my name is Ken Zhong and I had worked, live and traveled in China for 6 years before finally making my way back to Singapore again. I am glad that I retained the ability to speak and understand good Mandarin as well as a few Chinese dialects from my parents because it allows me to interact with local Chinese in a much more closer manner not to mention the ability to understand what is being said on a signboard, the tour guide, the food menu, the local bus guide and other small but significant details that make traveling in China much easier.
China is filled with interesting culture, history, arts, people and they all intertwine to give a country that is so diverse yet so integrated to form the modern China. It was with much regret that much of my experience of living and traveling in China can only live in my memories because I only discover the wonderful tools of digital photography and blogs recently.
Today, I continue to travel to China and I want to present my own perspective of China that is different from the glossy brochures of tour agencies that you normally see. You will find details and information from first hand on the ground experience that may not even be found in brochures and guide-books. This time round, I am determine that these memories stay permanently onto digital photography and blogs.
You are welcomed to contact me anytime. Have Fun!

I am planning a trip too China next May. Can you suggest the best spots to see - Is a Yangtze River Cruise something worthwhile to include in a trip to China if we are planning on a 17 day tour?
Any comments on taking/not taking Yangtze River Cruise would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Hi: If you have time, a Yangtze Cruise should be included as it brings you to the heart of Chinese culture. The scenery is fantastic, you see real Chinese at play and work and it’s a good time to relax because the rest of your trip is likely to be hectic.
However, do check that you are at least visiting Beijing (Great Wall, Ming Tombs, Forbidden City, Tiantan temple, Tian-An Men) and Xian (Qing Shi Huang Masoluem, Terra-Cotta Warriors) if you want to really see Chinese history and culture.
You can miss out the rest (including Yangtze River) if necessary but never miss out Beijing and Xian.
Regards
Ken
